For this year’s Members’ Juried Art Exhibit, juror Yomarie Silva-O’Neal selected 38 artworks submitted by 29 member-artists. The Museum is proud to play a meaningful role in the artistic lives of its members, and is deeply grateful for their membership support.
Yomarie Silva-O’Neal was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, in 1973. She is Professor of Sculpture at Miami-Dade College, where she teaches Sculpture, 3-D design, Drawing, Color & Composition, and Art Appreciation. She has been teaching at Miami-Dade since the Fall of 2006. Her work focuses on small and seemingly insignificant biological forms which is the intersection of her love of art and science. She uses repetition in her sculptures of organic and man-made forms, changing their scale and changing how we as viewers would normally encounter them.
Most of the artworks in the exhibit are for sale. One third of the purchase price of each artwork benefits the Frederic Remington Art Museum. Purchased art remains in the exhibition. It will be available for pick-up on September 12. The cost of packing, shipping, and insurance is the responsibility of the purchaser.
